What should I talk about on my Glimpse video?!
If the school doesn’t provide you with a specific prompt, choose a topic that either highlights your personality, or covers something not highlighted in your application.
Share your passions, talents, and interests.
Be a Storyteller. Movies and books are memorable because they tell us stories. And a story will make your video memorable too! So, don’t just say, “I am very adventurous,” share a story about the time you hiked 20 miles of the Appalachian Trail or rode your bike from the city to the shore. Instead of just saying, “I love to cook,” tell me about your favorite dish to cook - in detail!
Where should I film my Glimpse video?
Find a clean, organized space with minimal distractions. The background should complement, not compete with, your presence. Good lighting is key. Use natural light if possible, ensuring your face is well-lit without harsh shadows or backlighting.
Can I perform on my Glimpse video?
This should be an authentic “glimpse” into you and your personality, so if singing, dancing, piano playing, crafting, painting, poetry slamming, juggling, etc are a big part of your life - by all means showcase it.
Should my Glimpse video look professional?
No. Please no. This is meant to be an unfiltered view of you. The real you. Not overly rehearsed or scripted. Just be YOU! That’s enough.
